Caroline left school at 18 with 8 GCSEs and an Advanced GNVQ in Business but with no clear idea of what she wanted to do. After a period in which she tried a number of jobs, including spending time in the USA working for Camp America, she joined Bibby Distribution, based in Liverpool. She was initially employed in their Accounts Department.
On the fast track to management
Three and a half years ago Caroline had the opportunity to join Bibby’s Management Training programme. This is a graduate programme but Caroline was able to join as an internal applicant and worked in a trainee role until taking on her current position as a Marketing Co-ordinator. During her training she has passed the Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC), a recognition of management competence by the industry and she has also taken part in a number of development sessions in leadership, communications and team building. In her job Caroline deals with every aspect of the business – finance, operations, customer service and human resources.
