Future opportunities as commercial director or in marketing

Alistair says, “I realised from this experience that people who succeed in business often start as Chartered Accountants and this is what I wanted for myself.” This has been borne out in practice, “As a result of my accountancy qualification I now see opportunities left, right and centre, perhaps in the future as a commercial director or even in marketing and strategy.” Alistair currently line manages five staff and is responsible for setting the budget for the distribution side of the business.
Alistair says
“The logistics industry offers a very wide range of opportunities, encompassing many skills including business, accountancy and particularly IT, as well as many others. Logistics today is a highly technological and fascinating industry which offers many opportunities for career development and attracts a wide range of different people.” Having worked in the industry for a couple of years, Alistair says “I now realise just how important the logistics industry is to the economy.”
