Rhys Davies Freight Logistics (RDFL) was founded in 1952. In the last 15 years, the Company has grown from a single base in South Wales into a national company with eight depots throughout the UK.
We offer comprehensive nationwide pallet distribution services, as well as specialising in ‘Total Logistics Solutions’ for customers with more demanding warehousing and distribution requirements.
Our fleet of more than 170 vehicles ranges from vans and rigid lorries through to a substantial fleet of articulated vehicles, with some 150 curtain-sided and double deck trailers.
The Company’s premises in Cardiff provides warehousing in excess of 80,000 square feet and, together with operating centres in Andover, Birmingham, Haydock, London, Rainham, Scotland and Wakefield, forms a national network of warehousing in excess of 560,000 square feet. RDFL can store in rack or via block stacking. In addition to pallets, we are experienced in handling drums, cans, sacks and any other form of container. We can offer numerous added value services including full stock management, pick/pack and order assembly, plus decanting and mixing.
Career opportunities with RDFL
There are opportunities to progress your career from the shopfloor upwards with our company. In the warehouse for example, you could join RDFL as a picker for which you need to be numerate and in good health. To progress to become a forklift truck driver, you would needs to be given in-house training to use counter-balance, reach or narrow aisle trucks.
If you have good people skills you could move on to become a supervisor; or if ICT is your strength, how about becoming a stock controller? If you’re really ambitious, you could eventually become Warehouse Manager – the most senior position.
We also take on graduates from time to time, looking ideally for a degree in Transport and Logistics, Business Administration or other relevant courses. Our graduate recruits can work as a Stock Controller or Traffic Planner, or as a Business Analyst or in the Commercial Department. There’s scope to progress from there to become Traffic Office Manager, Deputy Operations Manager, Operations Manager, Commercial Manager or General Manager.
