£4 million boost for logistics jobs
02-12-11
Almost £4 million has been given to the logistics industry by the government for projects on job, enterprise and growth.
The funding, which has been granted to Skills for Logistics for use between 2012 and 2014, will also be used to convey the professional image of the industry through contact with schools and colleges, helping them to understand better what it means to work in the logistics business.
Paul Brooks, Chairman of Skills for Logistics, and Sales Director of Unipart Logistics, said “The £4 million … investment announced today … is a clear indication of the recognition by governments across the UK of the importance of logistics and wholesaling to the economy and its recovery.”
