About Delivering your future

Delivering your future aims to increase knowledge of the logistics industry

Delivering your future is a campaign co-ordinated on behalf of the logistics industry by the Sector Skills Council, Skills for Logistics.  It aims to increase knowledge of the logistics industry among young people and those who influence them, and increase the number and quality of future recruits.

Delivering your future is aimed mainly at school and college students aged between 11 and 19.  In order to reach these groups, we also need to inform key influencers such as parents, subject teachers, careers teachers and advisers.  If you’d like to learn more, why not get the facts about the industry or visit our area for those giving advice?

Delivering your future is funded by the Road Haulage and Distribution Training Council, whose trustees are: the British Association of Removers; the Freight Transport Association and the Road Haulage Association.

Our key messages

Getting things from A to B – on time. Logistics puts the food on the supermarket shelves and the latest gadgets in the shops.  It sends parcels worldwide, helps you move house and makes sure your favourite band gets to the stadium on time.

Planes, trains, trucks and ships.  Logistics uses every imaginable form of transport to move things around the UK and the rest of the world.  People are needed to plan routes, organise loads and sit behind the wheel or in the saddle.

A route to suit you. Navigate a huge variety of careers in logistics – jobs dealing with customers, jobs that are hands-on, jobs where you get to travel, behind-the-scenes jobs like finance and IT.  Whether you’re looking down the road, across the UK or around the world, there’s something for everyone.

Get your career moving. Wherever you want to go, logistics can take you there. Earn while you learn as an apprentice, get on the fast track after graduation – if you want a flexible career with good money and opportunities to progress, it’s a great place to be.
